About TaLK
Created in 2008 upon the ideals of service, compassion and creativity, TaLK is a unique Korean government scholarship
program and is available to university undergraduates or recent graduates who wish to explore Korean culture while teaching
English in the Korean countryside.
TaLK scholars serve 6-month or 1-year terms and form working partnerships with Korean university students and teachers
to prepare and lead English classes in the after school English program at the elementary school.
Available placements : Busan, Chungcheong-do, Gangwon-do, Gyeongsang-do, Incheon, Jeju-do and Jeolla-do
Eligibility
Citizenship : Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States of America
Education : Bachelor's degree holders or current students in their 2nd year of studies at a four-year university,
or Associate's degree holders
Application Process
Apply online: www.talk.go.kr *create a My Page account
Undergo initial and final screening by the local offices and Seoul TaLK Office, respectively
Submit additional materials (required documents) *as stated on the Web site
Duties
Complete the one-month orientation in Korea *prior to teaching
Serve at the designated elementary school
Teach for 15 hours per week in the after school English program
Fulfill duties/responsibilities in the TaLK Contract
