In Bundang-gu

I moved to Bundang in July of 2008, before that I used to live in Yongsan gu near Hannam Subway Station (Seoul) from 2002 to 2008. Bundang has a reputation of a neighborhood for the Korean elite  and being expensive.

In my opinion, there is nothing special about it except for the fact that almost everything at any store-big or small-is over-priced.

There are some distinct features to this area. The most moderen -Pangyo Digital city- is located here, houses are all newly constructed hence, they are very modern and the government has tried to make good use of Green energy and renewable energy products.

Solar engergy is used for all the public offices. There are special incentives by the government for people who will use solar power to create an environmentally friendly 'new' city. Every single house has solar panels in this area particularly Pangyo and Unjeong-dong.

The place is surrounded by "Cheonggye san" or Cheonggye Mountains with streams both natural and man made and parks are a frequent sight. It has cleaner air than any other residential area in and around Seoul.

It is a relatively calm and quiet place in comparison to Seoul and is lush green.
